Our verdict
What it does well, and what it doesn't
Pros
- Activity tracking is the core product, and most runners and cyclists already use it.
- Clubs are free, with posts and announcements, weekly leaderboards and join-request approval.
- Club Events support RSVP caps and waivers.
- Club Messages adds channel-based chat inside the club.
- An Events tab for discovering group runs, rides and races launched in July 2026, reported to be available on the free tier.
Cons
- Strava doesn't offer ticketing or payments for club events, so paid sessions need another tool.
- No native way to export your club's member list; the API returns summary member data only, under restrictive terms.
- Club Messages isn't available to under-18s or to clubs with two or fewer members.
- No venue booking, campaigns or booking analytics — clubs are built for athletes, not businesses.
Strava pricing
- Clubs: free to create and manage (a club must be created on desktop).
- Strava's paid subscription covers analytics features for individual athletes; it isn't needed to run a club.
- Strava doesn't offer ticketing or payments for club events.

Using Strava in India
Strava is available and widely used in India. Clubs are free to create and join; Strava doesn't offer ticketing or payments for club events, so there is nothing to pay out in rupees.

Questions
Yes. Creating and managing a Strava club is free, though a club must be created on desktop. Strava's paid subscription covers analytics features for individual athletes and isn't needed to run a club (as of October 2026).
No. Strava has no native club member export. The API's List Club Members endpoint returns summary data only and is governed by restrictive API terms, so the practical option is to announce your new home in the club and let members opt in.
No. Strava doesn't offer ticketing or payments for club events. Clubs that charge for sessions use a separate tool — Hiive, for example, sells tickets with payouts in rupees and also tracks runs, rides and walks.
