How to export club members from Strava

Strava has no native way to export a club's member list. The API's List Club Members endpoint returns summary data only, under restrictive API terms, so the practical route is to invite members to opt in somewhere you control.

Quick answer

Invite members to opt in to your new home: Set up your community somewhere you control, with a public join or sign-up page. → Post an announcement in your Strava club explaining where the club is moving and why. → Mention the move at your next few Club Events and group runs. → Repeat the announcement over a few weeks, and keep the Strava club open while members move across.

Method 1

Invite members to opt in to your new home

  1. 1

Set up your community somewhere you control, with a public join or sign-up page.

  2. 2

Post an announcement in your Strava club explaining where the club is moving and why.

  3. 3

Mention the move at your next few Club Events and group runs.

  4. 4

Repeat the announcement over a few weeks, and keep the Strava club open while members move across.

Members sign up themselvesThis is the only route that gives you members' contact details with their consent.
Method 2

Strava API: List Club Members (developers)

  1. 1

    Create a Strava API application.

  2. 2

Authorise it with a Strava account that belongs to the club.

  3. 3

Call the List Club Members endpoint for your club.

JSONReturns summary member data only, not a contact list. Use is governed by Strava's API terms.

Limits to know before you start

  • There is no export button for club members in Strava.
  • Since 11 November 2024, Strava's API terms only let third-party apps show a user's data to that user, and API data may not be used for AI or machine learning.
  • Strava's official MCP connector (June 2026) is read-only, for subscribers, and covers your own data for personal use — it isn't a way to export club data.
  • Tell members where your club is moving and let them choose to join; don't copy their details from Strava.

Moving your community somewhere new

  1. 01

Tell your members first. Say where you're moving, why, and when the old space will go quiet.

  2. 02

Keep the export safe. Only contact people in ways they agreed to, and follow data-protection law such as India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

  3. 03

Set up the new home before you announce it: your first event, your Hive, and who can join.

  4. 04

Run one event in both places, then point everyone to the new link.
